ATP Nutrition Arginine AKG 300 g - Product description
ARGININE AKG L-Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate (A-AKG) is a popular form of the semi-essential amino acid l-arginine. From l-arginine, nitric oxide is formed in the human body, which helps blood flow to muscle tissue during physical exercise. Thanks to the added anti-caking agents, the product is resistant to hardening caused by air moisture uptake.
Increased production of nitric oxide ensures blood supply to the muscles
Arginine is a substrate in the human body for enzymes known as NO synthases, which form nitric oxide. This causes vasodilation of blood vessels and blood flow to peripheral tissues, including muscle mass.
There are studies showing that arginine intake promotes nitric oxide production, thereby improving blood flow to tissues. It is for this reason that the use of arginine is popular among strength athletes.
Some studies also point to the ability of arginine to increase growth hormone levels. This effect is temporary (growth hormone levels are not elevated for 24 hours) and is achieved after an intake of 5-9 g of arginine per day.
A popular form of A-AKG in concentrated form
The dietary supplement contains pure arginine in the form of l-arginine alpha ketoglutarate 2:1. This is one of the most popular forms of arginine, which is highly absorbable.
One serving contains 5,700 mg of pure A-AKG, which seems to be the optimal dose for the above functions. Higher daily dosages (around 10 g) are not recommended as the absorption of arginine decreases rapidly.
