Often the effect of arginine and citrulline is compared (citrulline is a precursor of arginine) and some experts lean towards the higher effectiveness of citrulline. They argue, among other things, that citrulline breaks down more slowly in the body and thus increases the level of arginine in the blood for a longer period of time.
