The cocoa mass is often referred to as "100% chocolate". This is pure cocoa mass made from whole cocoa beans. 100% raw cocoa mass is produced by grinding and pressing dried cocoa beans in special mills and contains 50-55% cocoa butter. It contains no other raw materials and can be used for direct consumption. Cocoa beans are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and substances that serve as neurotransmitters, which give the body energy, good mood and a clear mind.
Cocoa mass should be made from unroasted cocoa beans in which all the health benefits are preserved. Cocoa contains the substance theobromine, which makes up between 1-2% of the cocoa bean, has a dilating effect on blood vessels and can support the nervous system very effectively. Theobromine has only 1/4 of the stimulating effect of its sister molecule caffeine. Theobromine has a mild diuretic effect and is used as an essential ingredient in natural remedies for lowering blood pressure and preventing heart attacks.
