Anatomies 1, 2, 3 - Product description

ANATOMY 1

The first part of the textbook contains anatomy of the entire musculoskeletal system. Prof. MUDr. Radomír Čihák, DrSc., and Prof. MUDr. Miloš Grim, DrSc., have again modified, updated and supplemented it according to the latest findings.

Almost one third of the text has been updated or supplemented and over fifty-four original colour illustrations by academic painters Milan Medo and Ivan Helekal have been supplemented or updated with another fifty pictures by ac. Ivan Helekal and Mgr. Jan Kacvinský.

In particular, the authors have added more developmental aspects of organogenesis, phylogeny and molecular biological mechanisms of embryonic development. All developmental chapters have been revised and supplemented and a chapter on genes and proteins has been added, together with an explanation of these concepts. By combining descriptive, functional and developmental aspects of anatomy, the authors have attempted to fulfill the meaning of the term "morphology" as originally coined.

In addition, the chapter on human phylogenetic development has been updated. The book is not only necessary for teaching basic medicine and mastering this basic and difficult subject, but is also a necessary addition to the professional library of physicians in many fields where a good anatomical knowledge is essential.

The book is part of a multi-volume didactic set, which has not yet been surpassed in its professional level in this country and which has been in demand for many years by both faculties and clinical departments. Due to the continuing interest, the authors are constantly adding new findings in the field.

ANATOMY 2

The second volume of this excellent textbook contains anatomy of the gastropulmonary and urogenital systems and the endocrine gland system. These are key sections for physiology, pathology and clinical practice. The textbook highlights both basic facts for medical students and developmental and functional aspects. Compared to the previous edition, the text of this volume has been updated with the latest findings, particularly in the areas of organ development, genetics and embryology.

This volume has been edited and supplemented by Prof. MUDr. Radomír Čihák, DrSc., and Prof. MUDr. Miloš Grim, DrSc. The pictorial documentation has been expanded by almost 60 new pictures and photographs, so the text now contains almost 500 mostly colour illustrations, which are original works of the Anatomical Institute staff.

The multi-volume set of anatomies by the main author, Prof. Radomír Čihák, MD, DrSc., is considered one of the highlights of our scientific literature, both in terms of didactics, illustrations, precision and execution. Therefore, this excellent textbook has been in demand for many years by both faculties and clinical departments.

Because of the continuing interest, the authors are constantly adding new findings in the field. The set is considered a cornerstone for lifelong learning in both theoretical and pre- and clinical areas of medicine. The entire multi-volume didactic publication has not yet been surpassed in our country in its professional level and is regularly updated according to current knowledge.

ANATOMY 3

The last volume of the full-colour textbook contains anatomy of the cardiovascular system, central nervous system, peripheral cerebrospinal and autonomic nerves, skin and sensory organs. Topographical notes and notes on practical (applied) anatomy are also included. This volume was edited and supplemented by: prof. MUDr. Radomír Čihák, DrSc., prof. MUDr. Rastislav Druga, DrSc., and prof. MUDr. Miloš Grim, DrSc. Academic painter Ivan Helekal, Mgr. Jan Kacvinský and Stanislav Macháček. The publication contains 340 original colour composite pictures and photographs.

The three-volume set of anatomies by the main author, Prof. Radomír Čihák, MD, DrSc., is considered one of the highlights of our professional literature, both in terms of didactic and illustrative aspects and in terms of precision and execution.

This volume is divided into three separate volumes at the request of the authors and students, which gives the reader more possibilities to use the extensive publication in teaching or practice.

Excellent textbooks that have been in demand by both faculty and clinical departments for many years. Because of the continuing interest, the authors are constantly adding new findings in the field to the work. The set is considered a cornerstone for lifelong learning in both theoretical and pre- and clinical areas of medicine. The entire multi-volume didactic publication has not yet been surpassed in our country in its professional level and is regularly updated according to current knowledge. All volumes are richly illustrated in color with original illustrations totaling 1400, often consisting of multiple drawings.

About the Author

Čihák Radomír

Prof. MUDr. Radomír Čihák, DrSc. was an important representative of the Prague school of anatomy. The focus of his scientific work lies in the anatomy and embryology of the musculoskeletal system and his approach to understanding the laws of the anatomical structure of organs is therefore based on the study of their development. The subject of his observations was primarily the human limb. He described the various stages of the development of its skeleton and muscles and found hitherto unknown relationships between the development of the human limb and the historical development of the vertebrate limb. He was able to use the anatomical knowledge resulting from his studies of the development of muscles and their innervation for clinical medicine. He became a sought-after collaborator of orthopaedists and surgeons. In 1970-1990 he was the head of the Anatomical Institute of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University, to which he remained faithful throughout his life. He worked as an emeritus professor, anatomist, author of publications and translations, and also devoted himself to the University of the Third Age. He also participated in its organization on a national scale. He was in personal contact with the staff of a number of anatomical institutes in the German Democratic Republic, GDR, France, Austria, Poland, the USSR and the Netherlands. He lectured in these countries at congresses of anatomical societies and contributed significantly to the development of international contacts of Czechoslovak anatomy.
