L-citrulline is a non-essential (conditionally essential) amino acid, a micronutrient that the body cannot produce in sufficient quantities, typically during heavy exercise, and therefore supplementation in the form of dietary supplements is in order. It is important for athletes because when taken before physical exercise, it promotes the body's own production of nitric oxide, which helps with blood flow to stressed muscles.
Citrulline is found in large quantities in, for example, watermelon. A synergistic combination of the amino acid L-citrulline and malic acid is L-citrulline malate. Malic acid (malate) is an organic acid that occurs naturally (for example in the apple). The amino acid L-citrulline is what makes up the amino acids L-arginine and L-ornithine. It is a formula very popular among athletes.

- Flavored variants: mix 1 serving (3.2 g = 1/2 scoop = 1 levelled teaspoon) of product with 200 ml of water in a shaker
- Unflavored variants: mix 1 serving (3 g = 1/2 scoop = 1 levelled teaspoon) of product with 300 ml of water in a shaker
