Rice flour is made from rice using a special process. It is mainly used to prepare sweet, unbaked desserts. It is an excellent raw material for baking gluten-free cookies, cakes and unleavened buns. Or suitable for thickening sauces for savoury or sweet dishes. Rice flour increases the volume and binding power of (gluten-free) mixtures.
It is also usually mixed with other flours (buckwheat, corn, etc.) in baking. Rice flour dough is firm, similar in many ways to wheat flour dough, although not as elastic.
It is an easily digestible food that gives a feeling of satiety.
It isgluten-free and therefore suitable for celiac patients and gluten-free diets.
