About the Author
Contreras Bret
He has become known in the strength and conditioning industry as "Glute Guyy" due to his focus on helping his clients strengthen and sculpt their glute muscles. He is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Sports Science at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand, where he studied under biomechanics expert John Cronin. As part of his research, Contreras has conducted many electromyographic studies. As the former owner of Lifts Studio in Scottsdale, Arizona, Contreras worked with hundreds of clients - from those with sedentary jobs to elite athletes - and built a glute muscle strengthening machine called the Skorcher. He currently trains participants in fitness competitions, sets up programs for clients around the world, and is a consultant to many professional sports teams. Contreras is an accomplished college educator in the field of conditioning and strength training who has attended many conferences in the United States including the 2013 NSCA conference on personal training. He is a peer-reviewed author and regular contributor to well-known magazines including Menn's Health, Menn's Fitness, Oxygen, and MuscleMag. It was Oxygen that named him a Glute Expert in 2010 in their glute-focused issue.
