Injuries in sport and how to prevent them - Product description
The book, which in its first edition was published under the title Injury Prevention for Athletes, is a kind of "cookbook" for the initial diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries of the upper and lower limbs, head and spine. It simply describes the anatomical prerequisites for the injury, its causes, symptoms and treatment options, including the time required to heal. The revised edition also includes a new chapter on the specifics of childhood fractures, which, if ignored, can lead to serious lifelong problems.
The authors introduce the reader to basic static taping techniques that can help to heal injuries that have already occurred, but can also be used to prevent them. They also illustrate specific applications of kinesiotaping as a progressive method currently used in the field of sports traumatology and physiotherapy. Rehabilitation is also crucial for an athlete's successful return to competitive activity, so the penultimate part of the book, with 64 illustrated exercises, focuses on the rehabilitation of individual joints, with recommendations on the stage after injury or surgery at which to begin its use. As the difficulties associated with back pain are increasing significantly among athletes, the authors have also included 30 suitable exercises focusing on this issue.
